Latex: What it is !

LATEX (from the LATEX Project ) is a programming language used for technical and scientific publications. Simply put, it uses the TEX engine (a set of complex rules) to figure out how to make your publications or documents look great!
LaTeX is available as free software!!
How it works:
- You write your document in such as a programm code
- You compile it (you can choose multiple simultanous output format, mostly pdf and ps)
- You are done !!

For those who don’t want to deal with the complexity of latex code, there is a wysiwym (what you see is what you mean) editor named LyX, with a user friendly gui which automatically translates your text in latex.
